Training
This training program is composed of theory and hands-on courses. The theoretical course is obligatory to all students and researchers who intend to use Qatar University Laboratory Animals Research Center (LARC), regardless of any previous training they may have had at other organizations. The hands-on course is obligatory only for all personnel who will be handling live animals at LARC. It is our obligation to help researchers and students to be trained and certified to use the laboratory animals at LARC in a humane and responsible manner. This training program will give the trainee a general understanding on the regulations and responsibility in using laboratory animals for research. The successful participants will be awarded course completion certificates. A copy of HCULA certificate should be submitted with research protocols for QU-IACUC approval.

Euthanasia is an important component of animal research. Researchers use humane methods to euthanize their research animals and collect tissue samples.
The objectives of this basic training module are:
- To define humane euthanasia methods in rodent research
- To understand the importance of Necropsy procedures in rodent research
- To know organ collection procedures
This training program includes both Theoretical and hands-on instructions. This program offers great opportunity for science and medical students to gain knowledge on the basics of rodent euthanasia, necropsy and organ collection procedures in rodents (Rats & Mice). Successful participants will be awarded with certificate of participation.
